Protection of worksite personnel and infrastructure has become more challenging as the size of the equipment has increased. Sick has applied their advanced driver assistance systems to this application with the Minesic100 series of protection packages. Laser area scanners and a GPS communicate with the operator via a simple HMI. The system has outputs for external signals for proximity warnings.

AOS Prime Anti-Collision

AOS Prime combines protection for Direction of Travel, Cross Travel ( AOS104 RTG ), and Ship-to-shore crane boom and crane-to-crane collision prevention (aOS502 STS). The system combines Sick's rugged laser area scanners with a self-testing system with excellent diagnostic capabilities for easy and safe installation.

Collision Avoidance at Machining Table

The TiM3xx 2D laser scanner is used to detect curved sheets or tilted parts. The TiM3xx signals the detected objects by means of a digital switching signal and thus avoids collisions with the tool. Freely configurable sensor fields facilitate installation and integration into the machine.
